We want teens at the table. Our vision is to build a cohort of young people leading the shift from screens to connection; building digital flourishing, human joy, and stronger communities from the ground up.
What to Expect
- Fall 2026: Recruitment. Screen-free, fun IRL events near you. Apply or get nominated for the cohort.
- Winter 2026: Training. Virtual civics workshops in storytelling, activism, and leadership.
- Spring 2027: Launch. Launch your own project rooted in connection and joy, not screens.
The Outcome: You leave this program as a trained change-maker with a real project in your community and a seat at the policy table to shape the future of tech, rather than inherit it.
An idea was born in New York.
In 2025, #HalfTheStory brought New York-based teens to the table with Governor Kathy Hochul to discuss phone use policies and peer-centered solutions. A few months later, we kicked off a leadership program powering the next generation of digital wellness advocates. Read more about our Teen Tech Council.
Now it’s spreading to California!
From coast to coast! After launching in New York, we’re bringing our Teen Tech Council to California.
In partnership with the Office of the First Partner, we’re bringing teens back to the table (literally!) with a roundtable to co-create a statewide challenge that enables California students to contribute to policy on AI, innovation, and responsible technology use in the state.
This roundtable kicks off the California Teen Tech Council, where students will be trained in design thinking, get a chance to speak with legislators, and bring their own events and innovations to life in their local communities.
